POLICE arrested eight people on suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering offences.
The Merseyside officers were working alongside specialists from the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) when they raided several addresses this morning.
Shortly after 7am fficers from Merseyside Police executed search warrants at 12 addresses across Merseyside and one in Cheshire.
In Wallasey, a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering at an address in Palermo Close; a 51-year-old man on suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering at an address in Allerton Road; a 37-year-old man on suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering at an address in Links View; and a 35-year-old man on suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering at an address in Mosspits Lane, Wallasey.
Elsewhere, a 33-year-old man on suspicion of money laundering at an address on Thingwall Hall Drive, Childwall; a 49-year-old man on suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering at an address on Twyford Lane, Widnes; a 50-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of money laundering at an address in Castletown Close, Childwall; and a 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and money laundering at an address on Childwall Mount Road in Childwall.
Search warrants were also executed at addresses on Water Street in Liverpool city centre; Wheatland Lane, Wallasey; Oaklands Court, Wavertree; Charnley Drive, Childwall; and Seaview Road, Wallasey.
They have all been taken to a police station on Merseyside where they will be questioned later.
