Dec. 14 (Bloomberg) -- The Namibian High Court has ordered that the bank accounts of Jacob ''Kobi'' Alexander, the former Comverse Technology Inc. chief executive officer wanted in the U.S. for securities fraud, be reactivated after they were frozen.

Standard Bank Group Ltd.'s Windhoek-based unit and Bank Windhoek were ordered by Judge Elton Hoff to allow Alexander to withdraw money from his bank accounts, according to copies of the Dec. 12 judgment released in Namibia's capital city today. Alexander had made an urgent application to the High Court to gain access to his accounts, frozen in October.

''Bank Windhoek has unfrozen the account,'' Bank Windhoek spokeswoman Marlize Horn said in a telephone interview. Officials at Standard Bank couldn't immediately be reached for comment.

Alexander, who was freed Oct. 3 on N$10 million ($1.4 million) bail, is wanted in the U.S. to face charges related to stock-option backdating, conspiracy, securities fraud, making false filings to U.S. regulators, money laundering and bribery. Alexander has said he will plead not guilty to those charges.
