Macedonian government endorsed the anti-money laundering draft, including the draft-law on public prosecutors.
"The government endorsed the law on the prevention of money laundering and other unlawful transactions which may be used to finance terrorism," the government said in a statement released after the late Tuesday's session.
The government clarifies that the law would tighten measures to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. The law will grant more powers to the authorities to supervise those tasked to prevent money laundering, and would also strengthen the international co-operation.
The government also gave the green light to the law on public prosecutors and the draft-law on the Council of Public Prosecutors.
Justice Minister Mihajlo Manevski presented the initial version of the draft-law on public prosecutors two weeks ago. He underscored that the new law will boost the powers but also the responsibilities of public prosecutors. /end/
