on Monday, February 13, 2012
Head of ICPC's Zonal Office in Adamawa State, Mr Ludam Samuel, has identified misappropriation of funds, bribery, sexual harassment and examination malpractices as the major forms of corruption bedeviling the country.

Samuel, who made the observation on Saturday in Yola while speaking on a radio programme, expressed optimism that the vices could be eradicated.

He said corrupt acts could be checked through advocacy, sensitisation, education and prosecution of offenders. "ICPC is committed to ensuring that corruption in the country declines and it is in this line that the commission has been given the mandate to obtain information from offices, banks and other financial institutions.

"The pieces of information obtained, it is believed, would assist towards the arrest and prosecution of culprits," he said. Samuel also called on members of the public to support the commission by providing it with information that would lead to the arrest of offenders. He said members of the public could do so by reporting any suspicious moves and characters to the commission.
